During Lent, the bells in Rome don't ring. The story says it's because they're on their way to bring chocolate. Stores sell chocolate bells just like you'd have chocolate bunnies.
HOWEVER! Recently, American culture has had a big influence here, so now we /also/ have chocolate bunnies and know about the Easter bunny and so on. So we have both now.
We also don't have a tooth fairy, but mice that collect teeth to make furniture. So it's not the tooth fairy but the tooth mouse that collects our teeth from under our pillow
How does a bell carry chocolate? No arms.
Mice? Do they pay you? The Tooth Fairy leaves money under your pillow.

The bells have no arms, but they're big hollow stuff. I always assumed they filled themselves up with eggs or something. I'm sure if they can fly, they can tell gravity to shut up and not let the eggs fall xD
Either way, it's not weirder than a rabbit that lay eggs and carries them in a kangaroo-like pouch on his (her, I guess?) belly
First of all, the rabbit does not lay the eggs. They're just dyed eggs. Maybe magic. Not sure. But he carries them in his Easter Basket. And he's a Bunny, not a rabbit.
The basket is a very important part of Easter. That's what kids wake up to in the morning. A basket filled with eggs, chocolate, other treats and sometimes small toys. It's like a Christmas stocking, but a basket.
