Matteo is 22, and he's a real prankster. He can be really hypocritical, and most teachers actually like him. But what he enjoys the most is making fun of them to their face, without them realising it.

He's Juliette Boulanger's cousin (their mothers are sisters) and they definitely have a lot in common, even though they'd both hate to hear that.

Matteo is red-haired, with green eyes and a lot of freckles. I'm not sure if it shows here, but he has a long nose - as in, longer than average, not huge.

He's an only child, and his mother's baby. She adores him and spoils him and he knows how to take advatage of it. But he's not rotten.

I know a lot of the people who read the book said they didn't like him. I do. He is very special, but he's a good guy. He's definitely not a bully, more of a rebel. he only makes fun of authority and majorities. He's more the kind to have made fun of bullies throughout school, indirectly protecting and avenging their victims.

He has a weird way to think, but he's very clever and see further than most people. Sometimes he'll do something that seems to be incredibly mean, and it will turn out to have helped the person in the end.

Sometimes, though, he's genuinely cruel.
